The 2014 Emmy nominations will be revealed July 10 and in the days leading up to that big announcement we'll be sharing our dream picks for nods in the big categories. You can find our picks for all the reality categories here. Today's focus: Outstanding Variety Series.
When it comes to Emmy wins, Outstanding Variety Series hasn't actually seen too much variety over the past decade. In fact, "The Daily Show' picked up the win in the category for 10 years consecutively until "The Colbert Report" broke its record-breaking streak.
Nominees haven't evolved much either considering the category is primarily ruled by late night heavyweights like "Kimmel" and long-running favorites like "Bill Maher." We can only hope that this year just might be the one to shake things up.
