CBS is facing some big changes to its late night programming lineup when longtime "The Late Show" host David Letterman retires later this year, and Stephen Colbert takes his place. Now, outgoing "Late Late Show" host Craig Ferguson, also set to depart sometime before the end of 2014, has also been replaced.
TheWrap reports that British actor, writer, and comedian James Corden is the man who will fill Ferguson's chair, though CBS and Corden's reps are staying mum on the news for now. Corden can currently be seen in the Keira Knightley-Mark Ruffao flick "Begin Again," and will star in "Into the Woods" later this year.
And Corden's impressive resume doesn't stop there. U.K. viewers know him as the creator of the hit, critically acclaimed series "Gavin & Stacey," and he also snagged a 2012 Tony award for "One Man, Two Guvnahs."
The 35-year-old will be the youngest late night host of the bunch when he starts the gig, though as Uproxx points out, he's not exactly the most diverse candidate for the job. (No women or minorities will host a late night network show this year, sadly.)
No specific timeframe has yet been laid out for Ferguson's exit, though he announced that he would be vacating his chair by the end of 2014. Stay tuned.
