After enjoying huge success in syndication, beloved family sitcom "Full House" may be getting a reboot, with several key members of the original cast on board to return.
TV Guide reports that Warner Bros. TV, the studio behind the series, is "mulling a new take" on the show, which is being spearheaded by none other than Uncle Jesse himself, a.k.a. John Stamos. The actor "has an ownership stake in the show, which gives him good reason to champion the new series," TV Guide writes, continuing:
Original executive producer Bob Boyett and creator Jeff Franklin (who's writing the new version) are actively involved. Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie) and Andrea Barber (Kimmy) are on board, while Bob Saget (Danny) and Dave Coulier (Joey) are also involved in some way.
According to the report, cast members have remained close over the years (including popping up at each other's weddings), and have staged mini reunions in the past, including Stamos, Saget, and Coulier teaming up for a Greek yogurt commercial that aired during the Super Bowl this year. And "Full House" has remained hugely popular since it went off the air, scoring significant ratings in syndication that continue to grow, and accumulating "a healthy teen fan base ... that wasn't even born when the show ended," TV Guide writes.
Add to that the example set by new Disney series "Girl Meets World," a spinoff of ABC series "Boy Meets World," and it seems "Full House" has all the ingredients necessary for success. While nothing is set in stone, we're pretty sure no one would bet against the "House" just yet. Stay tuned.
