The 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards airs live Monday, August 25 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. "Saturday Night Live" alum Seth Meyers will host the event from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
For the fourteenth straight year, cable network HBO leads the nominations with 99 total, spearheaded by the 19 nominations from fan favorite (and, apparently, critic favorite) "Game of Thrones." FX's new miniseries "Fargo" was close behind with an impressive 18 nominations -- and with far less fanfare.
Here's the full list of Emmy nominations.
TV had a huge year with the series finale of the popular "Breaking Bad" and the breakout arrival of "True Detective." The latter has been getting some heat, though, for being considered a drama series versus a miniseries -- particularly with its pool of A-list film talent. I mean, Matthew McConaughey could win the Best Actor Oscar and the Best Actor Emmy. Meanwhile, Julia Louis-Dreyfus goes for her fifth career Emmy, and third in a row for her starring work in the HBO comedy series "Veep."
Billy Crystal will also honor the late, great Robin Williams during the live event.
