'Hunger Games' Traveling Museum, Theme Parks Coming Soon

The Hunger Games: Catching FireYou wouldn't think that a franchise about teens fighting to the death and overthrowing the government would lend itself to so many tie-in opportunities, but you'd be wrong.

In the past, there's been plenty of fancy stuff for fans of "The Hunger Games" to buy, from haute couture and glittery maquillage to less pricey baubles at outlets like Hot Topic. Last week, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer told investors that the studio has plenty of other dystopian tricks up their sleeve.

According to Hypable, Feltheimer said, "In addition to the mobile game partnership and 'The Hunger Games' traveling museum we announced on the last call, we're deep into conversations with prospective partners on 4 continents to explore theme park attractions and other location-based entertainment opportunities." The first step towards the real-world "Hunger Games" experience will be "The Hunger Games: The Exhibition," a traveling museum that will feature props and other cool stuff from the movies.

We'd totally go see Effie Trinket's amazing outfits in real life, but we're a little skeptical of an actual "Hunger Games" theme park. The problem with that is that, well, who wants to go on vacay to hang out in the dusty districts of Panem? The glittery world of the Capitol is where you'd really want to party, but that's sort of the whole point of the series. We're rooting for Katniss and Peeta to overthrow President Snow and his nasty government, but honestly, aren't they having the most fun and wearing the most outrageous outfits? It's a far cry from drinking butterbeer in Orlando, and most of "The Hunger Games" fans, well, we aren't ready to go toe to toe with Bear Grylls. Although that does give us an awesome idea for a TV show...

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" comes out on November 21.
