The teaser trailer for the last film in Peter Jackson's sprawling "Hobbit" trilogy is here, and, if you haven't seen it, it's serious business. Martin Freeman stars as Bilbo Baggins, the lovely little hobbit who ends up on an incredible journey with dragons and elves and all sorts of crazy stuff. In this trailer, he narrates some pretty sad scenes -- the aftermath of battles, Smaug's fiery attacks, and the loss of a beloved mentor. Well, sort of loss. Transmogrification? Something like that.
Check out the trailer below for a glimpse of Bilbo's sad little face, some elfin butt-kicking courtesy of Legolas (Orlando Bloom) and Thranduil (Lee Pace), and much more. Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Luke Evans, Evangeline Lilly, Cate Blanchett co-star, with Benedict Cumberbatch as the voice of Smaug.
"The Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies" opens in the United States on December 17.
