If you've been watching "Game of Thrones," you know that it's hard not to root for Isaac Hempstead-Wright, who plays the crippled (but still plucky) young member of the Stark clan, Bran, whose destiny seems to be coming sharply into focus. But as amazing as being a part of a television phenomenon, Hempstead-Wright has an even cooler gig on the horizon -- he's the lead voice actor in "The Boxtrolls," a new movie from Laika, the Portland, Oregon-based animation studio behind "ParaNorman" and "Coraline."
Hempstead-Wright plays Eggs, a young boy who is orphaned and raised by the titular creatures as one of their own. The Boxtrolls are cuddly and odd -- they live underneath a British town and rifle through the humans' trash, making their own creations from the things that the humans toss away. When an evil exterminator (played by Ben Kingsley) threatens the Boxtrolls' existence, Eggs has to leave his underground world behind and defend his family. It's going to be really great.
We got a chance to go up to Laika and while we were there got to interview Hempstead-Wright, who tells us why he jumped at the opportunity to be in an animated film, how it feels for the movie to finally be coming out, and why he's always stuck in trees.
"The Boxtrolls" hits theaters September 26.
