Neil Patrick Harris took a cue from his former "How I Met Your Mother" character Barney Stinson and suited up this weekend -- for his wedding.
Harris tied the knot with his longtime partner David Burtka in an intimate ceremony in Italy on Sunday, reports People. The couple have been together for 10 years, and are parents to 3-year-old fraternal twins Harper and Gideon, who participated in the festivities.
According to People, the grooms wore custom Tom Ford tuxes and were married by officiant Pamela Fryman, a longtime friend and mentor of the couple and Harris's director on "How I Met Your Mother." And while the celebration was an intimate one, it did include one star-studded component: a special performance by Sir Elton John at the reception.
Harris announced his engagement to Burtka way back in 2011, after New York State legalized same-sex marriage, but revealed that the pair had actually been engaged for over five years, and just waiting for the right time to say "I do." It seems that with Harris's tenure at "HIMYM" over, and the recent wrap of his Tony-winning turn in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," the moment was finally right.
The jubilant actor confirmed his nuptials on Twitter, quipping that he and Burtka "put the 'n' and 'd' in in 'husband.'" Harris also shared a snap from the ceremony, showing both grooms grinning at each other.
