The Oscars 2014 Best Actor race is probably the most heated of all the awards being given out at this year's Academy Awards ceremony. The five nominees were Chiwetel Ejiofor for "12 Years a Slave," Matthew McConaughey for "Dallas Buyers Club," Leonardo DiCaprio for "Wolf of Wall Street," Bruce Dern for "Nebraska," and Christian Bale for "American Hustle."
And the winner for Best Actor is Matthew McConaughey for "Dallas Buyers Club."
Going into the Oscars this year, it was a three-way race between DiCaprio, McConaughey and Ejiofor, of whom all three delivered amazing, award-worthy performances; unfortunately, only one could win the big prize.
After he won the Golden Globe, his win at the Oscars was pretty much anticipated. McConaughey's turn as a former-bigot-turned-AIDS-patient/savior was nothing short of astounding, and the majority of Moviefone editors chose him as the hands-down winner.
Now that the Oscars are over, we can dream about next year's nominees. Or not. Your call.
