What's an EGOT? Well, 'Frozen' Songwriter Robert Lopez Has Done It

Ladies and gentlemen, we have another EGOT.

After earning a Best Original Song nomination for "Let It Go" from "Frozen," composer Robert Lopez was poised to join the exclusive EGOT club, with members each earning Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards throughout their careers. Lopez did indeed win a little gold man Sunday night, making him the 12th EGOT, and the youngest ever to earn the title.

Lopez co-wrote the song with his wife, Kristen Anderson-Lopez, and accepted the award with her on Sunday night. The pair thanked their collaborators and called out their category competitors for a job well done. ("You are all rock stars. Literally," the pair said, in a winking nod to fellow Best Song nominees U2.) They also recognized their two daughters, who they encouraged to take to heart "Frozen"'s message of following their dreams, and hinted that they were ready to work on a sequel to the newly-christened Academy Award-winning film (which also nabbed Best Animated Feature Sunday).

In addition to being the newest and youngest EGOT honoree, Lopez also took the shortest amount of time to do it, earning all four of the awards in a decade. He bested previous record holder Rita Moreno, who did it in 16 years.

Congrats to Lopez, and here's to many more EGOTs to come.
