Sylvester Stallone Wants Badass Sigourney Weaver to Lead 'Expendabelles'

An all-female "Expendables" spinoff is coming -- and Sylvester Stallone wants badass babe Sigourney Weaver in charge of "The Expendabelles."



While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter at the London premiere of "The Expendables 3," producer Avi Lerner said that he was putting the finishing touches on the XX spin-off idea, and had a speedy time frame in mind to shoot the flick.



"We're going to do it at the beginning of next year," Lerner told THR. "We are writing the final lines of the script, we've got lots of ideas about who is going to be in it."



One of those ideas? According to Stallone, it's none other than Ripley herself. The actor said he'd like Weaver to play his on-screen wife -- with a twist. The plot could see Weaver and Stallone's characters divorce, and a messy settlement include separating members of the Expendables team.



"So she'd get the house, the kids and my mercenaries!" Stallone told THR.



While that's not the best idea we can come up with for how to use Weaver's talents, we like that Stallone wants of one Hollywood's veteran female action stars for the flick. We'll see who else he recruits next.
