While we wait for an official casting announcement from HBO, another big name actor has been floated as a possible lead for the second season of "True Detective": Vince Vaughn.
TVLine reports that Vaughn in currently in talks with the network to play a prominent role in the series, which will be set in California and reportedly feature four main characters. Actors Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch were also rumored to be in negotiations for the second season of the series, which racked up multiple Emmy nominations this year after a celebrated debut on the premium cable channel.
TVLine's report emphasizes that Vaughn's attachment to the project is only in "preliminary" stages, and nothing has been confirmed by HBO just yet. While HBO programming president Michael Lombardo promised imminent casting news following the Television Critics Association press tour last month, viewers are still waiting for information about their beloved show.
Stay tuned to see if TVLine's report pans out.
