TV's Highest-Paid Star Is ... Judge Judy

2014 Heroes Of Hollywood Luncheon

The stars of "The Big Bang Theory" may have just landed monster new contracts, but they're still not at the top of the highest-earning television stars chart. That distinction belongs to none other than Judy Sheindlin, a.k.a. Judge Judy.

Sheindlin, who's been hosting syndicated courtroom show "Judge Judy" for 19 seasons, rakes in an estimated $47 million annually, according to calculations from E!. That's still much higher than second place finisher Jon Stewart, who pulls in between $25 and $30 million per year.

As for "Big Bang" cast members Kaley Cuoco, Jim Parsons, and Johnny Galecki, their new $1 million per episode deals only work out to $24 million annually, a paltry sum in comparison to Sheindlin's haul. That's good enough for fourth place on E!'s list, behind Sheindlin, Stewart, and "Today" host Matt Lauer (who makes approximately $25 million each year).

In 2012, the International Business Times calculated that Sheindlin made about $123,000 per day, or, if going by the number of days she shot "Judge Judy" episodes, $865,385 per installment of the syndicated series. Every time Sheindlin asks someone in her courtroom, "Do I have 'stupid' written across my forehead?" just remember that she's getting paid close to $1 million to spout those lines -- and if she's making that much money, she's clearly not stupid.
