It's official: Justin Lin will helm the fifth "Bourne" film, and the movie will get a summer 2015 release date.
After reports surfaced last month that Lin would take the reins of the sequel to "The Bourne Legacy," Universal has confirmed the news, while also announcing that the flick will hit theaters on August 14, 2015. The movie will star Jeremy Renner, reprising his role as Aaron Cross, and continue the storyline introduced in "Legacy."
Lin directed the last four installments of the "Fast and the Furious" franchise. He'll co-produce "Bourne 5," alongside returning producer Frank Marshall.
Summer 2015 is already pretty crowded, with "Avengers: Age of Ultron," the "Man of Steel" sequel, and "Jurassic World" all slated for release. Here's hoping "Bourne" can continue its legacy of box office success.
