The three main stars of "The Big Bang Theory" are getting big, fat raises, with Kaley Cuoco, Jim Parsons, and Johnny Galecki each reportedly set to earn $1 million per episode for the next three seasons of the series.
Deadline reports that the trio recently negotiated new contracts to earn the same amount (similar to what the cast of "Friends" did back in the late '90s), and bump up their pay from $350,000 per episode to nearly triple that. The new deals also include a lucrative bundle of perks including owning a larger percentage of the show, receiving signing bonuses and new production deals, and getting advances on back-end earnings when the CBS comedy is sold into syndication.
All in all, Cuoco, Parsons, and Galecki are each looking at earning upwards of $90 million through this deal, Deadline reports, and that number could jump even higher as the show continues its successful syndication run. An 11th season of the long-running comedy -- which is currently entering its eighth season, and has been renewed through a 10th season -- is also being considered, promising even more profits for the trio.
While those numbers seem huge to the average viewer, Deadline notes that "BBT" has already raked in $1 billion in profits, and is poised to double that through the lifetime of the series. That could be good news for Cuoco, Parsons, and Galecki's fellow original "Big Bang" castmates, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar, who currently make upwards of $100,000 per episode, but are looking for more in the wake of their co-stars' big deals.
Production has not yet begun on season eight, and may be delayed if Helberg and Nayyar cannot close their deals before a table read scheduled for this week. The eighth season of "The Big Bang Theory" is currently scheduled to premiere with a one-hour episode on September 22.
