'Guardians of the Galaxy' Star Dave Batista Making More Movie Deals With Marvel

Premiere Of Marvel's

Are you ready for more Drax the Destroyer? According to a story on the pro wrestling site PWMania, Dave Batista, who won over audiences with his portrayal of the heavily tattooed warrior Drax in "Guardians of the Galaxy," is having some serious heart to heart talks with Marvel about his contract.

Batista's performance as Drax was a sweet surprise to viewers who were a little skeptical about the former WWE champ's chops, so it's a no-brainer that Batista will return for "GoTG" sequel. What's piquing our interest is PWMania's claim that Batista's restructured contract with Marvel would mean a part in the third "Avengers" movie - and according to PWMania, it would be "a significant role." It's not entirely clear how Drax and the Avengers could hook up, but there are plenty of fan theories. Marvel's got a few years to figure that one out.

In the meantime, the sequel for "Guardians of the Galaxy" is set for 2017. There's lots of Drax backstory for the movie to explore, like his pre-Thanos life. Perhaps Gunn's statement about including more female characters in the sequel means we'll see a bit of Drax's daughter Moondragon, who, contrary to what Drax believes, grows up on Thanos's home planet Titan after her parents are killed. The possibilities are endless!

"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" will be in theaters on July 28, 2017.
