'Django Unchained' Actress Daniele Watts Detained After Cops Investigate 'Sexual Act'

An actress who starred in Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained," along with her boyfriend, have gone public after Los Angeles police officers detained them last Thursday.

Daniele Watts, who played Coco in the 2012 film, posted on her Facebook that she was talking to her father on a cell phone near the CBS Studio Center when an officer approached her.

She claimed that she walked away before two other cops came and "forced" her into handcuffs "after refusing to agree that I had done something wrong by showing affection, fully clothed, in a public place."

Watts' boyfriend Brian Lucas, an L.A. chef also known as Chef Be*Live, told a similar story on his own Facebook, writing that they were approached by police after "showing our affection publicly."

"From the questions that he asked me as D was already on her phone with her dad, I could tell that whoever called on us (including the officers), saw a tatted RAWKer white boy and a hot bootie shorted black girl and thought we were a HO (prostitute) and a TRICK (client)."

Lucas said that he later showed the police officers his ID, but that Watts didn't because she didn't feel they had a right to ask for it.

"So they handcuffed her and threw her roughly into the back of the cop car until they could figure out who she was," Lucas wrote.

He posted a video of Watts in handcuffs to his Instagram account.

He also posted a picture to his Facebook that showed one of Watts' wrists bleeding after the arrest, claiming it was from the handcuffs.

The LAPD confirmed to CNN that police responded to a citizen complaint that a white man and an African-American woman were carrying out a "sexual act" in a Mercedes with the door open.

"Two people were briefly detained, but it was revealed no crime had been committed," spokeswoman Sally Madera told the network.

Watts has claimed that they were simply making out, but eyewitnesses who allegedly saw the incident told TMZ a different story.

They claimed that Watts and Lucas were having sex in the car with the door open and cleaned up with a tissue afterward.

In audio from the incident that was posted by the gossip site, Watts can be heard speaking with an officer and saying that she was making out with her boyfriend before she was arrested.

An officer who identifies himself only as Sgt. Parker says she placed herself in handcuffs after she left the scene. He then points out that another man at the scene was not placed in handcuffs.

Parker said she took an incident that would have taken five minutes and "made it 30," explaining that he was responding to a complaint. She later accused the officer of being "a little bit racist."

The LAPD is carrying out an internal complaint investigation regarding Watts' detainment, The L.A. Times reported.
