It must be cool to be a member of U2: They've got boatloads of Grammys, they're Academy Award nominees, they know/are Bono. So it makes sense that someone would try to join their ranks. But did you expect it to be Benedict Cumberbatch?

Whether he was trying to get in with Bono and Co. or just make a goofy scene, Cumberbatch certainly made an impression on the Oscars red carpet Sunday night with a hilarious photo bomb of the members of U2 and their respective dates. Cumberbatch -- who was also a presenter at the ceremony -- was probably just trying to have some fun and let off some steam after playing the villain in both "Star Trek Into Darkness" and "The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug" last year.
Whatever his intentions, we can't blame him for wanting to add some levity to what turned out to be a pretty drab red carpet. The hunky Brit proved that if this whole smoldering leading-man thing doesn't work out, he may have a career in comedy waiting for him.
