Marvel man Stan Lee has done it all in the movie adaptations of his comic books -- everything from selling hot dogs to playing chess to judging a beauty pageant. But one thing he won't be doing in a cameo? Giving someone the finger.
According to Collider, "Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn recently revealed that Lee's original cameo in them movie was supposed to be very different.
He had "planned to have Lee in one of the Collector's exhibits. Groot would then look at the exhibit aghast, to which Lee would flick off the large tree creature," the site says.
But Disney nixed the idea, so Lee wound up appearing as part of the crowd on the planet Xandar, where he was talking to a much younger woman. So, Lee playing a creepy old man is OK, and flicking off Groot isn't?
Perhaps Disney was uncomfortable with Lee being part of the Collector's array of memorabilia. Or perhaps they just thought the former Marvel president was too much of an elder statesman to do such a childish thing as giving someone the middle finger. So, Lee sticking his tongue out at Iron Man in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" is probably out?
