Pretty much since the moment the series finale of "24" aired in May 2010, the people involved with it - producers, star Kiefer Sutherland, other cast members, the caterers - have talked about making a follow-up movie.
You'd think that talk would be moot after Fox commissioned and aired the successful 12-episode limited series "24: Live Another Day." Well, you'd think wrong. According to TV Line, people are STILL talking about making a "24" movie.
Sources tell the site that Imagine Entertainment, which produces the show, has an idea, but has yet to pitch it to 20th Century Fox. That's where things get complicated; since "Live Another Day" was a hit, Fox may want to make another limited series.
"We haven't had a specific conversation about it coming back yet, but I'm sure we will in the future," said Fox Networks Group Chairman CEO Peter Rice in July. "It's a wonderful franchise. When you look at the show itself it has many more stories to tell. I think we need to sit down and talk to the creators."
Whether "24" lives on in a movie or another series, one thing is clear: Jack Bauer can never die.
