Never Fear, 'Game of Thrones' Fans: You'll See Cersei Naked After All

Comic Con"Game of Thrones" producers were in a tough spot recently when their filming permit application was rejected by Croatian officials, citing religious objections to a nude scene set to be filmed in and around a local church. But a new report says that the show was able to come to an agreement with the government, and shooting of the scene in question will commence -- with some adjustments.

TMZ reports that officials from the Church of St. Nicholas -- whose power is absolute in Dubrovik, Croatia, where "Game of Thrones" is currently filming -- relented to producers' pleas to allow them to shoot the sequence, which features Cersei emerging naked from a church, and wandering through the streets. While the scene is an iconic one from George R.R. Martin's books, church leaders didn't see it that way, denying access due to an objection over public displays of sexuality.

However, the production was able to convince the church to relent slightly on that stance, and has now been allowed to film the scene as planned, with a few changes. Notably, TMZ reports, actress Lena Headey, who plays Cersei, will be allowed to stroll the streets in the buff "as long as she never sets foot in a church."

The site adds that producers plan to work around that stipulation by shooting the beginning of the scene on a fake church set, then cutting it into the other footage. Officials reportedly changed their mind after being swayed by the popularity of "GoT," and the money that the production brought into the country.

The fifth season of "Game of Thrones" -- nudity and all -- will premiere on HBO sometime early next year.
