Things have gotten even more awesome for "The Lego Movie": It's getting a sequel.
Despite the film not even opening in theaters yet, studio Warner Bros. is so excited about "Lego"'s prospects that it's already greenlit a follow-up. Industry analysts are predicting "Lego" to take in about $40 million when it opens this weekend.
The sequel will be written by Jared Stern, the screenwriter behind "The Internship" and "Mr. Popper's Penguins," along with another unnamed writer. "The Lego Movie" writers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller will be involved in the creative process for the sequel, consulting on the movie along with other filmmakers behind upcoming Warner Bros. animation releases.
No information about a plot or potential release date was available. Warner Bros. has yet to officially announced the sequel, according to TheWrap.
