The Latest 'Star Wars: Episode VII' Rumor Is as Villainous as It Is Confusing

David Oyelowo star wars rumorsNearly all scoops about "Star Wars: Episode VII" are just wild rumors, as director J.J. Abrams is keeping details about the hotly-anticipated sequel under lock and key.

But we can still have fun debating those rumors, at least!

The latest one comes from Making Star Wars, which was told by sources from inside Pinewood Studios that the main villains of "Episode VII" are so-called Jedi Hunters. The site says these hunters sound very similar to the Inquisitor of the animated television series "Star Wars Rebels."

One of their sources claims that actor David Oyelowo is playing one of the three main villains in the film, while another tells the site that Oyelowo, Adam Driver, and Lupita Nyong'o are the three evil Jedi Hunters.

"Source #2 claims to have been on set for a sequence in which we learn the Jedi Hunters worship the Sith and want to resurrect them," the site says. "Their mandate was to protect the Sith at all costs and insure their survival."

Luke Skywalker has apparently been battling them for the 30 years that have elapsed since "Return of the Jedi," according to the source, but is "outnumbered, tired, and in need of help."

We're taking all of this with a huge helping of salt, of course, but if this turns out to be true, it sounds like a great set-up to the new trilogy.
