Mondays are usually pretty lousy. But you want a little something to add some salt to the wound, well, how about finding out how much Hollywood's leading men make. That'll give you some much-needed perspective, especially when you're trying to decide whether or not you can splurge for a six-inch tuna sandwich from Subway.
At the top of the list, compiled by Forbes and put into handily readable form by The Short List, is Robert Downey Jr., who commanded a handsome $75 million last year. What makes this number even more incredible is the fact that the money was almost exclusively due to one role/movie: last May's $1 billion-grossing "Iron Man 3." Coming in second place is Dwayne Johnson who, unlike RDJ, was in six movies in the same time period. Homeboy never stops working. Coming in third, somewhat surprisingly, is Bradley Cooper, who doesn't seem to work all that often and when he does mostly chooses prestige over paychecks ("American Hustle" made some cash but it was far from a blockbuster and how much could he have possibly made for voicing Rocket in "Guardians of the Galaxy?")
The rest of the list is full of predictable actors: Leonardo DiCaprio (#4 with $39 million), Chris Hemsworth (#5 with $37 million) and Christian Bale (#8 with $35 million), and Chris Hemsworth, along with more surprising moneymakers like Liam Neeson (#6 with $36 million, again, he never slows down) and Will Smith (#9 with $32 million). Rounding out the list is Mark Wahlberg, also with $32 million. Say hello to your mother for me.
