The New 'Maze Runner' Trailer Is Intensely Promising (VIDEO)

If your appetite for post-apocalyptic YA adaptations remains unabated after "The Hunger Games" and "Divergent," you only need to wait a few more weeks for "The Maze Runner."



Yahoo Movies has the second trailer for the movie, which was adapted from the popular first novel in a trilogy (of course) by James Dashner. It features a bit more footage and explanation than the first teaser.



"Teen Wolf" star Dylan O'Brien plays Thomas, a teen who wakes up to find himself in a place called the Glade. He's stranded there, with no memory of his previous life, along with a group of other teen boys. The Glade is surrounded by an impenetrable maze housing terrifying creatures called Grievers.



Thomas yearns to break through the maze, especially after the arrival of the Glade's last resident -- and only girl -- Teresa ("Skins" star Kaya Scodelario).



"I think it's time to find out what we're really up against," he says.



"The Maze Runner" hits theaters September 19.
