Continuing its spooky/slick viral marketing campaign, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" has revealed two new Capitol Citizen Living Portraits, depicting Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and Johanna (Jena Malone) in moving, 360-degree images.
The portraits are a riff on the One Panem ads that have served as both propaganda for President Snow (Donald Sutherland) and teaser trailers for "Mockingjay," and feature high-end fashion that's a perfect match for the Capitol Couture blog, which also offered similar promotions in the run-up to the debut of the second "Hunger Games" flick, "Catching Fire," last year.
Reinforcing the idea that Capitol citizens love powerful public figures, Capitol Couture refers to Hunger Games champions Peeta and Johanna as "cherished elite." And the idolization doesn't stop there. In describing the pair's ensembles, the online magazine makes a point to mention the victors' "quiet strength" and "stern ambiance" (Peeta), while also calling them "daring and divine" and "a true darling of the Capitol" (Johanna).
It's a creepy but undeniably cool bit of promotion for the film. Check out the portraits below, and look forward to all the fashion -- and fascism -- on display in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" when it opens on November 21.
