The New 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Rap Is 100% Vanilla Ice-Free (VIDEO)

new teenage mutant ninja turtles rapMove over Vanilla Ice: There's a new gang who's cornering the market on crime-fighting turtle-themed rap music.

In promotion of the new Michael Bay-produced "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" flick set to hit theaters this summer, studio Paramount has released a new single that will be on the movie's soundtrack and feature in the film. The track, "Shell Shocked," is performed by Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, and Ty Dolla $ign, and perhaps intentionally reminds us quite a bit of "Ninja Rap," the single performed by Vanilla Ice in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze."

Unlike "Ninja Rap," however, "Shell Shocked" is a bit more creative with its verses and chorus, though it can't resist some cheesy lines of its own. (Literally. At one point, the phrase "We make it look easy" is rhymed with "Gimme that whole pie -- real cheesy.") The tune is a lot of fun, though, and TMNT fans will appreciate all the reference to the Turtles' origin story sprinkled throughout the song, including one couplet reminiscent of a Drake track that notes that the four brothers were "raised in the gutter, ... started from the bottom."

Sorry, Ice -- in the battle of turtle MCs, we're calling this one for Wiz and the gang. Let's just hope the latter group doesn't host an impromptu concert for the TMNT to crash; then we're taking it all back.

"Shell Shocked" is available on iTunes starting July 22. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is due out on August 8.
