Lea Michele Is Going From 'Glee' to 'Sons of Anarchy'

Giffoni Film Festival - Day 3

The already star-studded final season of "Sons of Anarchy" has added another familiar face in a guest-starring role: Lea Michele is set to appear on an upcoming episode of the motorcycle drama.

The "Glee" star announced her casting on Twitter on Monday, writing that she would be featured on her "favorite show," and thanking "Sons" creator Kurt Sutter for the opportunity. She also gave a shout-out to writer-director Paris Barclay, who has worked with Michele on "Glee," and also works on "SOA."

FX confirmed Michele's casting to TheWrap, telling the site in a statement that Michele would be playing a character named Gertie, described by the network as "an empathetic truck-stop waitress and single mother, who connects with Gemma (Katey Sagal) during a difficult time." Michele and Sagal previously worked together on "Glee," where Sagal played the mother of Artie (Kevin McHale).

The actress's appearance is scheduled for the season's sixth episode, set to air on October 14. She joins previously announced guest stars Marilyn Manson and Courtney Love.

The final season of "Sons of Anarchy" premieres on FX on September 9.
