They came, they saw, they kicked ass -- and now, they're ready to do it all again.
It's been 30 years since the original "Ghostbusters" hit theaters, and fans have been waiting a very, very long time for a third movie in the franchise ("Ghostbusters II" came out in 1989). Rumors about "Ghostbusters III" have been swirling for literally decades, but now, finally the movie seems to be moving forward.
Dan Aykroyd revealed on "Today" that filming on "Ghostbusters III" will start soon. "It looks like we'll be in pre-production in the spring now, from what I'm hearing," he said.
Of course, there's still a lot we don't know about the sequel. Will any of the original cast members be part of it? Aykroyd is listed as a producer on the IMDB page, but not as an actor. Bill Murray doesn't want to be involved. And Harold Ramis is sadly deceased.
Still, Aykroyd is hopeful that the third movie will do the franchise justice. "It should be good," he said.
Should be! It's been 25 years in the making!
