'Birdman' Soars at Gotham Independent Film Awards

IFP's 24th Gotham Independent Film Awards - BackstageAs the Oscar race heats up, "Birdman" flew away with one big prize last night. Alejandro Iñárritu's film won the top prize at the Gotham Independent Film Awards, over nominees leader "Boyhood." The films are among the frontrunners in this year's awards season ("Boyhood" triumphed at the New York Film Critics Circle).
