Stephen Colbert Interviews Smaug With Predictably Great Results

Stephen Colbert has interviewed a lot of tough customers since kicking off "The Colbert Report" way back in 2005, but few have been as fiery as last night's guest. Smaug popped his head into the studio to have a little chat with Colbert about liberal Hollywood, his contempt for Toothless in "How to Train Your Dragon" and those "Game of Thrones" critters, and then threatened to drink everyone's milkshake. For a giant old worm who likes to muck about in piles of gold coins, Smaug is pretty hip when it comes to pop culture references. No one was safe from Smaug's forked tongue, not even the Internet's Boyfriend himself. Smaug claims he turned down a role in "Sherlock" because "who wants to play second fiddle to that hack Cumberbatch?" Touchy, touchy!

"The Colbert Report" will take a bow on December 18. The final guest will be none of other than Grimmy himself!

"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" opens December 17.
