Mark Ruffalo Says There Might Be a Standalone 'Hulk' Movie

mark ruffalo hulk movieIs Hulk set to smash yet again?

Back in December, people scoffed a bit when Lou Ferrigno claimed another "Hulk" standalone movie was in the works. But now, Mark Ruffalo -- who played the green giant in "The Avengers" and reprises that role in "Age of Ultron" -- is backing him up.

"I think they are, for the first time, entertaining the idea of it," Ruffalo told Digital Spy of a standalone film. "When we did 'The Avengers,' it was basically 'No!', and now there is some consideration for it."

Before "The Avengers," two different "Hulk" movies -- 2003 with Eric Bana and 2008 with Ed Norton -- didn't exactly set the world on fire. But the character became much more popular after "The Avengers," and fans have been chattering ever since about rebooting the property with Ruffalo.

So, maybe Marvel is rethinking a "Hulk" movie. But if it does come to pass, it'll be awhile.

"There's still nothing definitive, not even a skeletal version of what it would be," Ruffalo warned. "I look forward to going down that road, if we could crack that nut."
