"Phantom of the Paradise"
What's It About? This is a freaky '70s take on "Faust" and "Phantom of the Opera," by way of Brian De Palma. Sure, we know that music producers are evil, but Swan (Paul Williams) really takes the cake.
Why We're IN: Shout! Factory's two-disc set has some pretty great goodies for fans of this cult flick.

"12 O'Clock Boys"
What's It About? Baltimore teens take to the streets on their dirt bikes, and young Pug wants to be one of them. A short but satisfying doc that's part extreme sports action and part personal drama.
IN or OUT: In.
"Around the Block"
What's It About? Christine Ricci stars as a cool American teacher in Australia who puts on a performance of "Hamlet" with her students. Unfortunately for the play's star, an Aboriginal teen named Liam, his real life is all too similar to Shakespeare's tragedy.
IN or OUT: This Aussie drama didn't win anyone's heart with his heavy-handed lessons.
"Californication: The Final Season"
What's It About? This Showtime drama finally took a bow in its seventh season, leaving David Duchovny's character, a sexed-up writer named Hank Moody, in the lurch. Hey, at least he's still alive.
IN or OUT: It doesn't seem like there are any bells and whistles to recommend this two-disc set.
"Community: The Complete Fifth Season"
What's It About? Showrunner Dan Harmon is back in full effect for this meta comedy about the weirdos at Greendale Community College.
IN or OUT: Even if you're not a diehard "Community" fan, you might want to check out extras like audio commentary with the cast and crew, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and all kinds of other good stuff.

What's It About? Shailene Woodley stars as Tris in this adaptation of Veronica Roth's dystopian bestseller. It's kind of complicated. Everyone is divided into different factions that are related to various sorts of personalities and qualities, like Candor, Abnegation, Erudite, and Dauntless. Tris is shuttled off to Dauntless, the thrill-seeking faction full of badasses who fight and jump off of moving trains and stuff. As it so happens, Tris is actually much more dangerous than any Dauntless...
IN or OUT: There are some cool special features, including that intense eyeball trauma scene we posted last week, so if you're a fan, snag it.

"God's Not Dead"
What's It About? A young college student meets his match when his philosophy professor challenges him to prove that God exists. Kevin Sorbo stars in this religious drama.
IN or OUT: You might have your own existential crisis if you watch "God's Not Dead."
"I'll Follow You Down"
What's It About? Do you love either of your parents enough to try and travel through space and time to find them? Well, Erol (Haley Joel Osment) does just that after his pops (Rufus Sewell) disappears in some sort of wormhole. Gillian Anderson and Susanna Fournier co-star.
IN or OUT: This didn't get great reviews, but if you're dying for an Anderson fix, why not?
"Need for Speed"
What's It About? It's an adaptation of a video game franchise about car racing. Aaron Paul, Imogen Poots, and Dominic Cooper star in this critically drubbed actioner.
"Oculus"
What's It About? Kaylie (Karen Gillan) is pretty sure that a haunted mirror is the source of all of her family's problems - and they're not garden-variety problems, either. We're talking murder, mayhem, etc.
IN or OUT: Genre fans will want to see out this creepy little film.
"Ping Pong Summer"
What's It About? It's a coming-of-age story about a kid named Rad Miracle (Marcello Conte) who loves hip hop and (surprise) ping pong.
Susan Sarandon, Lea Thompson, and Amy Sedaris also appear in this '80s throwback.
IN or OUT: Cute but not essential.

"The Full Monty"
What's It About? A group of working class Brits who start stripping Chippendales-style to make ends meet. In between the bumping and grindng, the guys have to deal with all sorts of tough subjects, like depression, body image, and much more.
IN or OUT: It's a pretty bare-bones release, but it's also pretty cheap. If you're a fan, why not?
