Just days after "The Walking Dead" aired its midseason finale, we have new details about the hit series's upcoming spinoff, which has two new cast members and a new working title.
The show, now being referred to as "Cobalt" (thought that may change), has added actors Frank Dillane ("Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince") and Alycia Debnam Carey ("Into the Storm") to the ensemble. According to Deadline, the companion series "revolves around a male divorced teacher and a female guidance counselor."
Deadline also reports that Dillane is set to play the guidance couselor's troubled son, who's battling a drug addiction. Carey, meanwhile, will play the woman's ambitious daughter. Those descriptions line up with details about "Cobalt"'s six main characters, which leaked back in September.
"Cobalt" was created by "Walking Dead" executive producer and co-creator Robert Kirkman (who also co-created the comics on which the show is based) alongside Dave Erickson. Erickson will serve as showrunner, and Adam Davidson will direct the pilot.
