'Bond 24' Is Officially Titled 'Spectre,' Full Cast Announced (PHOTOS)

On Thursday morning, Sony held a splashy live-streamed press conference to announce the title and cast of "Bond 24." Director Sam Mendes revealed that the film will be called "Spectre," and features a sprawling line-up of stars.

The title is a reference to a classic Bond villain supergroup SPECTRE, a.k.a. Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion. Among the actors assumed to be joining the film's Spectre lineup include Christoph Waltz, who's playing Oberhauser; Dave Bautista ("Guardians of the Galaxy") as Mr. Hinx; and Andrew Scott, who's playing a character named Denbigh.

Rounding out the cast are returning actors Daniel Craig as James Bond; Rory Kinnear as Tanner; Ben Whishaw as Q; Naomie Harris as Ms. Moneypenny; and Ralph Fiennes as M. Also joining the ensemble for the flick are Léa Seydoux ("Blue Is the Warmest Color") as Madeleine Swann, and Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra.

There's been rampant speculation that Waltz will play iconic Bond baddie Blofeld, and Oberhauser may just be a red herring name for now. Blofeld was known for his ties to Spectre, making it likely that Waltz is indeed playing him.

Thursday's announcement also included details about the film's exotic shooting locales, which will span London, Mexico City, and Rome, as well as Morocco and the Alps in Austria. The Aston Martin will also continue to be Bond's vehicle of choice, with the model DB10 created exclusively for the film.

Production begins tomorrow. "Spectre" opens on November 6, 2015.
