These Four Exclusive 'Mortdecai' Posters Feature Must-See Mustaches

The last time writer/director David Koepp and international man of mystery Johnny Depp teamed up, it was for the kooky, woefully under-appreciated Stephen King adaptation "Secret Window," a movie that ended with Depp, his teeth entwined with metallic braces, chomping down on some corn-on-the-cob. For their newest collaboration, January's "Mortdecai," the duo have decided to put the silliness out there, front and center, with Depp twirling a ridiculous (even by Brooklyn hipster standards) bit of facial hair and employing a French accent that makes Peter Sellers' voice in the "Pink Panther" movies seem like the pinnacle of grounded realism. And with our quartet of exclusive posters, everyone is getting in on the very goofy act.

In "Mortdecai," Johnny Depp plays the title character, a suave, slightly detached art dealer and, as the corresponding hashtag would suggest, part time rogue, who gets embroiled in a plot that involves terrorists, the British secret service, and Russian gangsters. (Hey, these things happen.) The film is based on a trio of books by Kyril Bonfiglioli, and, should this first film take off, plans are already in place for the franchise to continue. Hopefully with the appropriate, corresponding facial hair.

The four character posters we're debuting today showcase the movie's stellar supporting cast, including Ewan McGregor as the man "investigating Mortdecai," Olivia Munn as the woman "seducing Mortdecai," Gwyneth Paltrow as the unfortunate woman "married to Mortdecai," and, of course, Depp, as just plain old Mortdecai. And, for the record, no, Paltrow and Munn having mustaches doesn't make them any less attractive. What that says about us can be explored at a later date. (Paul Bettany, Michael Gambon, Jeff Goldblum, and Aubrey Plaza also co-star but sadly don't have their own hilarious posters... yet.)

We absolutely love the trailer; it feels like a serious international caper but with a total buffoon at its center. Honestly -- what could be better than that? Check out the trailer and posters below and be sure to visit the movie's official website, twitter page, Facebook and YouTube page. Because you know what's better than a million mustaches? A billion mustaches.

"Mortdecai" twirls into theaters on January 23rd.
