New on DVD, Blu-ray, and TV: '22 Jump Street,' 'Nightbreed,' 'We Are the Best!'

New on DVD and Blu-ray



"Bound by Flesh"

If you're a fan of "American Horror Story: Freak Show," you'll want to get to know sideshow stars Daisy and Violet Hilton. Leslie Zemeckis writes and directs this doc about the world-famous conjoined twins.



"Nightbreed: The Director's Cut"

This is the first time that Clive Barker's original cut has been released, with 40 minutes of fresh footage. The limited edition release comes with the theatrical cut, as well as a third disc of extras, but it's already sold out. Still, the regular release has the long-awaited director's cut, Barker audio commentary, and some other goodies that make it a worthwhile investment for fans.



The Complete Jacques Tati

This seven-disc Criterion set comes with Tati's six features, plus a seventh disc that includes a bunch of his short films. Fans of Monsieur Hulot's goofy misadventures will dig these digital restorations, including a colorized version of "Jour de fĂȘte," interviews, and more.



TV Worth Watching



"American Horror Story: Freak Show" (Wednesday, 10 PM EST, FX)

This is the second part of the Halloween special, so you'll definitely want to tune in for all the extra-spooky fun.





"Death Comes to Pemberley" (PBS, Sundays at 9 PM)

Although this mini-series kicked off last night, you still have time to catch up before next week's finale. Matthew Rhys stars as Mr. Darcy, with Anna Maxwell Martin as Mrs. Darcy (aka Elizabeth Bennet!) and Matthew Goode as George Wickham in this adaptation of P.D. James's Austen murder mystery.



Horror Movie Marathons

IFC, SyFy, AMC, and TCM are just a few of the cable channels offering up all the horror you can handle. Although some of these marathons have been running all month, this is the best week to get your film freak on!



New on Netflix



"Queen Margot"

Isabelle Adjani and Vincent Perez star in this period piece about the St. Bartholomew's Night Massacre. It's bloody, it's long, but it's beautiful. The restored version is now available on Blu-ray, but if you just want to see what the fuss is about, you can stream it directly from your TV to your eyeballs in the comfort of your own home.



"We Are The Best!"

This adorable coming-of-age story is about three 13-year-old punk girls growing up in Stockholm. "We Are The Best!" is for every misfit who's ever wanted to bang on the drums and yell about gym class and other indignities. Directed by Lukas Moodysson, and based on the graphic novel memoir by Coco Moodysson, this feel-good film sports a sweet '80s sensibility and soundtrack.

"22 Jump Street" (iTunes)

Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) go undercover at a local college in this sequel. Who'd have thunk that that a remake of "21 Jump Street" would be funny enough to warrant a sequel? Phil Lord and Chris Miller are magic.



"The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" (iTunes)

Feast on this extended cut of "Smaug," plus over nine hours of iTunes extras.

"Palo Alto" (Amazon Prime)

Gia Coppola's directorial debut stars Emma Roberts as a teen having an affair with her soccer coach, who's played by James Franco. (Coppola adapted her script from a book of short stories by Franco.) Nat Wolff and Jack Kilmer co-star as self-destructive teens in this dark coming-of-age drama.
