After scoring big in the ratings department, NBC has given "The Mysteries of Laura" a full-season pickup.
"Laura," which stars "Will and Grace" alum Debra Messing as the titular mom and cop, will now run for 22 episodes in its inaugural season. The show has been pulling in an average of 10.6 million viewers per episode, numbers that NBC hopes will continue.
"Debra has effortlessly infused Laura with a relatability that is captivating audiences," NBC president Jennifer Salke said in a press release announcing the news. "We can't wait to see how Laura will continue to evolve throughout the entire season."
"The Mysteries of Laura" co-stars Josh Lucas, Laz Alonso, Janina Gavankar, and Max Jenkins, and is co-executive produced by McG ("Supernatural") and Greg Berlanti ("Arrow," "Dawson's Creek"), among others. It airs on Wednesdays on NBC.
