Is Jena Malone Playing Robin in 'Batman v. Superman'?

Premiere Of ST. VINCENT, Hosted By The Weinstein Company With Lexus

Last week, a local Detroit news station spilled some significant details about "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" that set the rumor mill aflame.

The source, an extra on the film who risks a $5M lawsuit over breaching his/her NDA, disclosed that Jena Malone is playing Robin, who's also known as Carrie Kelley in Frank Miller's comic series "The Dark Knight Returns." Whether or not that's true, Malone has been spotted on the set and also recently posted a self-portrait of herself to Instagram with flaming red hair. (For more spoilery details, check out this report from The Wrap.)

According to The Hollywood Reporter, several of its sources have confirmed that Malone is attached to the film, although the role is still a mystery. Mmm, yeah, a mystery. A $5 million mystery!

"Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" already has two cool leading ladies with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Amy Adam as Lois Lane; adding a female Robin to the gang would be the cherry on top.

Jena Malone also co-starred in "Batman" director Zack Snyder's "Sucker Punch." She is playing super-slick tribute Johanna Mason in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1," which opens on November 21, as well as its 2015 sequel.
