Earlier this year, Walt Disney Home Entertainment and the talented folks at DisneyToon Studios unleashed "The Pirate Fairy," a terrific direct-to-video tale that featured Tom Hiddleston as the voice of a young Captain Hook (and Christina Hendricks as Zarina, the titular fairy). It was cute and fun and magical and cemented the "Tinker Bell" spin-off movies as not just mild curiosities, but essential entertainments for children and grown fans of Disney animation. So it's with some pride that we're able to introduce the new character from the next "Tinker Bell" installment, "Legend of the NeverBeast."
Everyone meet Gruff, the NeverBeast, via these exclusive images and a brand-new clip!
In the clip (above), Fawn (Angela Bartys) introduces the rest of the fairies, including Tinker Bell (Mae Whitman) and Zarina (this time voiced by Kristen Centsworth), to the NeverBeast, a scary-ish monster that looks like it could fit right at home alongside Spike Jonze's "Where the Wild Things Are" characters or any number of Jim Henson-originated monsters. The other fairies aren't really comfortable with the NeverBeast, but soon understand that he's just another magical creature (sort of like them). He's fearsome but cute.
And if you look at the photos (above and below) -- that will probably be your assessment too. While he might look a little odd (don't we all?), he seems to have a heart of gold, and should fit in well with the other fairies. Also, Anjelica Huston voices one of the new characters. How cool is that?
"Tinker Bell: Legend of the NeverBeast" will be released Spring 2015.
