The next season of "American Horror Story" is so close we can nearly taste it.
This is the first eyeful we've gotten of the denizens of Jupiter, FL., and it is a doozy. It starts with a snooty rich guy whom we presume to be Dandy Mott (Finn Wittrock) demanding, "Where are the freaks? I'm getting bored!" As the show starts, he whispers, "Freaks!" in a very creepy, toothy way while his mother Gloria (Frances Conroy) looks on in disgust. We have a feeling he's gonna get his very soon.
Sarah Paulson is already blowing our minds as conjoined twins Dot and Bette Tattler. She told EW, "It's not just a visual effect, it's not just the other head effect. This is a combination of 9,000 things." The trailer is shown from Dot and Bette's point of view as they leave home and find their way into the makeshift sideshow family led by Elsa Mars (Jessica Lange). They meet Ethel Darling (Kathy Bates), the bearded lady, who gives them the lowdown on what life's like in the outside world "for freaks like us." We also get a better look at Evan Peters as Jimmy Darling, the greaser-looking leader of the pack, son of Ethel Darling, and possibly the "lobster boy"; performer Mat Fraser as Paul the Illustrated Seal; "Asylum" alum Naomi Grossman as Pepper; and most terrifyingly, John Carroll Lynch as Twisty the Clown.
Of course, it's not just creepy clowns and mysterious secrets threatening the sideshow folk. The local Jupiter residents are not too hospitable to Elsa's crew, and it looks like violence is a-brewin'.
Check out the trailer, and be sure to tune in on Wednesday, October 8 at 10 P.M. EST. And prepare yourself for Jessica Lange covering Lana Del Ray in some upcoming episode!
@ttbradley Tina, don't be afraid! The clown is scary, true. But don't you wanna see Jessica Lange sing a Lana Del Rey song?
