New on DVD and Blu-ray



"The Skeleton Twins"

Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig are fantastic as estranged twins with a family history of depression. After a failed suicide attempt, Milo (Hader) goes to live with Maggie (Wiig) and her Golden Retriever-like husband, Lance (Luke Wilson). Although Maggie's life looks perfect from the outside, she's got just as many self-destructive secrets at Milo. Sweet and sad, this is definitely Wiig's best dramatic role to date.



"This Is Where I Leave You"

Tina Fey and Jason Bateman lead an impressive ensemble cast in this dramedy about a family forced together for their father's funeral, and the seven days of mourning customary known as sitting shiva in the Jewish tradition. Jane Fonda, Adam Driver, Rose Byrne, Kathryn Hahn, Ben Schwartz, and a ton of other funny/cool folks also appear.

"Tootsie"

Criterion takes on this '80s classic comedy about an actor who takes on a female persona named Dorothy Michaels to snag a role. Michael Dorsey (Dustin Hoffman) soon finds out that life as a lady isn't all it's cracked up to be. "Tootsie" co-stars Dabney Coleman, Charles Durning, and Teri Garr, The film has a fancy 4K digital restoration, audio commentary by director Sydney Pollack, and other extras.



TV Worth Watching



"Jane the Virgin" (Monday, The CW, 9 p.m. EST)

It's the fall finale of this adorable Golden Globe-nominated TV show! Will Jane (Gina Rodriguez) figure out what to do about her growing feelings for Rafael (Justin Baldoni)? What sort of deviousness will Petra (Yael Grobglas) get up to? What will happen with Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) and Rogelio (Jaime Camil)? We have so many questions, and hopefully this episode will have at least a few answers.



"Ink Master" (Tuesday, Spike TV, 10 p.m. EST)

Whether you hate-watch or just watch-watch "Ink Master," you'll want to tune in to the season finale to find out who will take home that $100 grand and Inked mag feature and what exactly a 35-hour backpiece looks like.



"Elf: Buddy's Musical Christmas" (Tuesday, NBC, 8 p.m. EST)

Although Will Ferrell is nowhere to be found, this stop-motion take looks as cute as those Rankin-Bass holiday classics. Ed Asner voices Santa Claus, with Jim Parsons as Buddy, and Mark Hamill as Buddy's dad.

"Roseanne" (Season 1)

If you haven't seen this groundbreaking TV show starring comedian Roseanne Barr and John Goodman as a working-class family in the Midwest, fix that now.



"Romy and Michele's High School Reunion"

Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow co-star as Romy and Michele, two kinda loser-ish ladies who decide to hit up their high school reunion and lie their faces off about how awesome their lives have been since graduation. Alan Cumming, Janeane Garofalo, and Camryn Manheim co-star.



"The Omen" (1976)

Accept no substitutes. This is the original "Omen," starring Gregory Peck and Lee Remick as the parents of a super creepy kid named Damien (Harvey Stephens). Or he could be the son of Satan. Only time will tell!

"Men, Women & Children"

Jason Reitman tackles the hazards of modern Internet communication in this ensemble dramedy starring Adam Sandler, Jennifer Garner, Rosemarie DeWitt, Judy Greer, and many, many other folks.

"Boyhood" (Amazon, iTunes)

Richard Linklater's coming-of-age movie is gathering a thunderous Oscar buzz, so now's the time to find out what the fuss is all about. Lorelei Linklater and newcomer Ellar Coltrane grow up before your very eyes, alongside Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette as their estranged parents.



"Two Lovers" (Amazon Prime)

Joaquin Phoenix is getting a lot of press for his shaggy stoner turn in "Inherent Vice," but he's also quite good in James Gray's "The Immigrant." This is another goodie from Gray and Phoenix, with Phoenix as a troubled guy who moves back in with his parents after a devastating breakup. He immediately meets and falls for two very different women, played by Gwyneth Paltrow and Vinessa Shaw.



"Ondine" (Amazon Prime)

Neil Jordan's beautiful modern fairy tale stars Colin Farrell as a fisherman named Syracuse who finds a beautiful young woman snagged in his fishing net. Alicja Bachleda co-stars as Ondine, the mysterious woman that Syr's daughter Annie (Alison Barry) suspects is a selkie, a mythical seal creature that can shed its skin and live as a human on land.
