It took 14 years for Malcolm D. Lee to get his sequel to "The Best Man" into theaters, but now that "The Best Man Holiday" is wiping up at the box office, he's already in negotiations for a third "Best Man" flick.
Lee told HuffPost Black Voices, "It took two years from when I first presented it to the studio to get a green light," later adding, "If there's a demand for a third 'Best Man' it will not take 14 years. If it happens, it will not be that long of a stand. We're not doing 'Best Man: Nursing Home.'"
Well, that's definitely not going to be an issue, what with a $30M opening weekend that gave "Thor: The Dark World" a serious run for his Mjölnir. According to Deadline, Lee is attached to a project with Fox Searchlight, but we'd wager that he's chomping at the bit to get another crack at a "Best Man" three-peat.
