Jennifer Lawrence cemented her role as America's reigning sweetheart last year when she tripped on her giant Dior gown while ascending the steps to accept her Best Actress Oscar for "Silver Linings Playbook." Lawrence's self-deprecating reaction to that gaffe was heartwarming and hilarious, but her recently-revealed reason for why she fell in the first place is even funnier.
In an interview with W magazine, Lawrence explained that it was a misunderstanding of her stylist's advice that kept her from focusing on her unwieldy dress, ultimately leading her to tumble.
"I was at the Oscars, waiting to hear if my name was called, and I kept thinking, Cakewalk, cakewalk, cakewalk," Lawrence explained to W. "I thought, Why is 'cakewalk' stuck in my head? And then, as I started to walk up the stairs and the fabric from my dress tucked under my feet, I realized my stylist had told me, 'Kick, walk, kick, walk.' You are supposed to kick the dress out while you walk, and I totally forgot because I was thinking about cake! And that's why I fell."
Getting distracted by dessert -- Lawrence really is a woman after our own hearts.
