'Jurassic World' Teaser Trailer Welcomes Us to the Park (VIDEO)

Jurassic World

The new teaser trailer for "Jurassic World," the fourth installment in the "Jurassic Park" franchise, may be short on content, but it's bursting at the seams with intrigue, as well as references to the original 1993 flick.

Clocking in at less than 20 seconds of footage, it's hard to parse too much from the clip, but there's a shot of the park's gates opening, a scene involving a stampeding herd of gallimimus, and characters gazing in wonder at a brachiosaurus -- all callbacks to similar moments from "Jurassic Park." We also get our first glimpses of Chris Pratt, Ty Simpkins, and Bryce Dallas Howard in action, though this footage does reveal too much about their characters.

Still, it's enough to get us excited for the flick, set to hit theaters next summer. And hearing a few select notes from John Williams's original, iconic "Jurassic Park" score is always a welcome sound.

A full trailer is set to debut later this week. "Jurassic World," directed by Colin Trevorrow, will be released on June 12, 2015.
