Better Program Your DVR: 'Better Call Saul' Gets Two-Night Premiere Date

Better Call Saul

AMC is pulling out all the stops for its "Breaking Bad" spinoff, "Better Call Saul," and that includes its premiere: The highly-anticipated drama will get a two-night series debut early next year.

"Better Call Saul" will make its series premiere on Sunday, February 8 at 10 p.m., with its second episode airing the following night, Monday, February 9, at 10 p.m. The show will then move into its permanent timeslot, Mondays at 10 p.m., the following week.

"This February, during AMC's first ever two-night series premiere event, we're going to introduce Jimmy McGill to the world. Known to 'Breaking Bad' fans as Saul Goodman, viewers will soon discover Saul wasn't always Albuquerque's top criminal (criminal) lawyer," said AMC President Charlie Collier in a press release. "Huge thanks to Vince Gilligan, Peter Gould, Bob Odenkirk, our partners at Sony, and the entire team. We're thrilled to be cooking together again."

The official "Better Call Saul" synopsis, according to AMC's press release:

"Better Call Saul" is set six years before Saul Goodman meets Walter White (Bryan Cranston). When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny and hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside and often against Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character first introduced in "Breaking Bad." The series will track Jimmy's transformation into a man who puts the criminal in "criminal lawyer."

Alongside Odenkirk and Banks, series regulars include Michael McKean ("This is Spinal Tap"), Rhea Seehorn ("Franklin & Bash," "House of Lies"), Patrick Fabian ("Big Love," "Grey's Anatomy"), and Michael Mando ("Orphan Black," "The Killing").

"Better Call Saul" will air 10 episodes in its first season. It's already been renewed for a 13-episode second season.
