Check Out This Dreamy First Trailer For Disney's 'Cinderella' (VIDEO)

C-PP-01481r Walt Disney Pictures has announced that principal photography has begun at Pinewood Studios in London, on “Cinderella,” Disney’s first-ever live action feature inspired by the classic fairy tale.Directed by Academy Award®-nominee Kenneth Branagh (“Jack Ryan,” “Thor”), the film stars Lily James (“Downton Abbey,” “Wrath of the Titans”) in the title role, Richard Madden (“Game of Thrones,” “Birdsong”) as the Prince, Oscar®-winner Cate Blanchett (“The Aviator”) as the infamous stepmother Lady Tremaine, and Academy Award-nominee Helena Bonham Carter (“The King’s Speech,” “Alice in Wonderland”) as the Fairy Godmother.Director Kenneth Branagh says: “It is impossible to think of Cinderella without thinking of Disney and the timeless images we’ve all grown up watching. And those classic moments are irresistible to a filmmaker. With Lily James we have found our perfect Cinderella. She combines knockout beauty with intelligence, wit, fun and physical grace. Her Prince is being played by Richard Madden, a young actor with incredible power and charisma. He is funny, smart and sexy and a great match for Cinderella.”

If this first trailer is any indication, director Kenneth Branagh's live-action version of "Cinderella" looks pretty posh indeed. Although it doesn't seem to stray too far from Disney's old animated tale, it offers up some tasty eye candy and two scenery-chewing performances by Cate Blanchett as the delightfully wicked Lady Tremaine and Helena Bonham Carter as Cinderella's Fairy Godmother. There's also a glimpse of the special effects that power Cinderella's mousy helpers and her decadent ride to the ball.

Lily James ("Downton Abbey," "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies") stars as the glowing heroine Ella, alongside Blanchett and Helena Bonham Carter. Agent Carter herself, Hayley Atwell, appears as Ella's late mum, alongside Sophie McShera and Holliday Grainger as Cinderella's cruel stepsisters. Last but never least, "Game of Thrones" alum Richard Madden plays Prince Charming himself. We've been missing Robb Stark's scruff, but darn those Rains of Castamere!

"Cinderella" will open in theaters on March 13, 2015.
