It's not set to hit theaters for another two years, but J.K. Rowling has officially finished the script for her "Harry Potter" spin-off, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."
David Heyman, who produced all eight "Potter" flicks and is set to produce "Beasts," revealed the news in an interview with The Telegraph while promoting his latest release, "Paddington."
"Jo [Rowling] has written a wonderful script," Heyman said. "It's early stages. David Yates is directing and we start filming next year. I'm just really excited about it."
And in another interview with The Telegraph, Heyman heaped even more praise on the author and her work on her screenwriting debut.
"She is so smart, and her turn of phrase, the precision of the language she uses, is a joy to behold," the producer said.
While Heyman hinted that filming would start soon, there's still been no announcements about casting for the flick, which takes place in the same universe as "Potter," but is a prequel of sorts. Harry and his pals are taking a backseat to the action, which instead will focus on magizoologist Newt Scamander, living in New York City 60 years ahead of the events of "Potter."
"Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them," set to be a trilogy, will hit theaters on November 18, 2016.
