New Viral Website Explores the World Behind 'Jurassic World' (PHOTOS)

Jurassic World

The Masrani corporation has launched a new website, outlining its work in communications, genetic research, and oil production -- oh yeah, and a little place called Jurassic World, home to some genetically-engineered dinosaurs.

Yes, while MasraniGlobal.com appears at first glance to be just your run of the mill corporate web presence, it's in fact a new viral site promoting "Jurassic World," the forthcoming fourth installment in the "Jurassic Park" series. According to the site, the Masrani company acquired InGen -- the corporation behind the creation of the first film's titular theme park -- in 1998 and continued its work resurrecting long-extinct creatures, eventually opening the park that John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) couldn't.

The site introduces visitors to company head Simon Masrani (played in "Jurassic World" by Irrfan Khan), who boasts that he's created "the safest theme park in the world," a claim that should in no way come back to bite him in next summer's movie. And the familiar face of Dr. Henry Wu (B.D. Wong), who was introduced in "Jurassic Park," is also a presence on the site, as he continues to assist in research behind the park's operations.

It's an impressively-assembled piece of marketing that quickly immerses fans into the world behind "Jurassic World," with seemingly every small detail about how the imaginary Masrani company operates on display. (Does it recycle on Isla Nublar? It does! How much money was spent on concrete reinforcements to park walls? $1.2 billion!) It should make for a fun bit of exploration for fans combing for clues before the flick, directed by Colin Trevorrow, is set to hit theaters.

Check out some photos from the site below. "Jurassic World," which also stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, Judy Greer, Ty Simpkins, and Nick Robinson, opens on June 12, 2015.
