Ron Burgundy Bikes Through Amsterdam with Daft Punk (VIDEO)

The promotional roll out of next month's "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" has taken us into some gloriously bizarre places, exemplified by the 70 (!) Dodge commercials featuring Will Ferrell's pompous new anchor Ron Burgundy (this one is my favorite so far). Now, we get a bit recorded for the MTV Europe Music Awards, which features Ferrell, in character, bicycling around Amsterdam with Daft Punk (also in character). It's like a dream I once had after eating dinner too late. And, in the words of Ron Burgundy, it is glorious.

"I'm coming to you from Europe's greatest city that isn't London or Paris or Copenhagen," Burgundy says, before meeting Daft Punk (actually flesh-and-blood Frenchmen Thomas Bangalter and Guy Manuel de Homem-Christo). Since the robots don't speak, Burgundy just lobs questions like "Are you from outer space?" at them.

Other highlights: Burgundy shouting "By the cheese wheel of old Amsterdam, envelop us in your beauty!," Burgundy and Daft Punk riding a tandem bicycle through the streets of Amsterdam ("Look, we're like a human centipede!") and bad jokes about a store full of wooden shoes (hint: it involves the words "fire sale").

The brief bit is pretty entertaining, and only fuels the incredibly odd fire for "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues." Ferrell seems to be having a blast inhabiting his old persona and Daft Punk do their deadpan robo-thing impressively. At the end of the bit, women are eating some kind of Dutch pastry off of their robot masks (which is weird and kind of nightmarish) and Burgundy describes them as "inexplicable continentals... from space." Come to think of it, this isn't like the dream I had; it's better.

"Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" hits theaters on December 20.
